Bangladesh has kept alive the sholapith (Indian cork) doll craft, terracotta toys of Rajshahi and Faridpur, Nakshi kantha embroidered cloth dolls, and clay figurines from Dinajpur. Village fairs (mela) — especially at Poush Sankranti and Poila Boishakh — remain the natural marketplace for these traditional pieces.
