Polish folk toys — koniki (little horses), painted wooden birds from Podhale, straw ornaments, papercut wycinanki — draw from a strong rural craft tradition. The wooden-toy villages of the Beskid mountains produce hand-carved animals and figures still sold at Krakow's Cloth Hall market. Rocking horses (koń na biegunach) are a signature Polish carved toy.
